Privacy Policy

EVIS is provided by the CRCNA for our member Churches, Classis, boards, and related groups.  EVIS uses Google accounts for authorizing/identifying users. This means EVIS requires your permission to use your Google account to sign in and see your email address and name.

EVIS uses the bare minimum of permissions required to run:

-See your email address of the Google account you are signing into the app with (So it knows who you are, verifying you have permission to use EVIS and the various functions like voting and speaker queue)

-Connect to an external service (EVIS connects to a Google Firebase database to store settings, votes, attendance, etc)

A more detailed explanation of this policy is:

1. Data Accessed: EVIS requires you to sign into a Google account. This proves you are authorized to use the service. EVIS stores your email address, and if entered, will store your First/Last name for use in dialog boxes (example "Welcome John Doe"). No other data is retrieved from your Google account.

2. Data Usage: EVIS uses your email address to verify you have permission to use the various features in EVIS. When an event/meeting is occuring using EVIS, the administrators use your email address verify if can do things like Yes/No voting, enter the speaker queue, perform elections, or do attendance. Your Google account/data is only used to verify your identity, to see if your email address is included in the groups/roles within EVIS, and to display to administrators for things like attendance.

3. Data Sharing: None of your Google Data is shared with or sold to any 3rd parties. Your email address and First/Last name are stored within EVIS's FireBase database only for the purposes of running the event you are attending.

4. Data Storage & Protection: Your email address and First/Last name are stored in a Firebase database for the purposes of the event you are attending. The database is protected from 3rd party access and all data is encrypted in transit.

5. Data Retention & Deletion: Your data is only retained for the duration of the event you are attending, and is deleted afterwards. You can also request your data be removed at any time by emailing evis@crcna.org
